Gravity and Levity: Five Things Schools Must Do To Avoid Extinction
These 5 ideas range from allowing use of iPods & cellphones to giving teachers more power to get rid of other teachers. Interesting but in need of some refinement.
1. I agree when he says "If we let the administrators do all the dirty work we lose respect..." Although I don't think that "policing" one another is the appropriate alternative, I would be interested to see how teachers would react with one another if everyone held eachother accountable for their actions.
2. #5 is quite interesting. However, if a teacher knows his or her material and can articulate it well, I believe that he or she can grab his or her students' attentions' just as much as any "performing teacher" can.
